SUMMARY 

The sales representative role based in Cape Town is to manage and develop the sales of the Company’s products in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, parts of the Northern Cape and Namibia by selling to an existing customer base and developing new customer sales. This will include regular travel to and within the regions. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

Sales 

  • Maintain and develop the current sales client base. 
  • Develop new customer relationships to add to the client base. 
  • Maintain and develop relationships with consultants, specifiers, end users etc. 
  • Provide customers with quotations, product literature, stock availability and account queries. 
  • Be comfortable presenting relevant content to clients, customers, and end users within formal and informal settings. 
  • Proactively follow up on statuses of quotations and orders with customers 
  • Ensure account and contact information on the company’s ERP system is kept up to date. 
  • Achieve allocated sales target. 
  • Assist with marketing activities when needed (product launches, exhibitions, etc). 
  • Administration Loading and processing of quotes and sales orders 
  • Loading and managing RMA processes 
  • Attaching orders, POPs, etc, on the ERP system 
  • Opening of new business accounts 
  • Provide weekly sales activity report. 

Technical Support 

  • Ensure product knowledge is maintained to provide basic advice on system applications, design, and first-level technical support. 

General 

  • Ensure all company policies and relevant procedures are followed. 
  • Assist with tasks related to the company operations that might fall outside the indicated duties and responsibilities. 

Requirements 

  • Minimum of one to two years experience in a sales representative role. 
  • Must be computer literate in software such as Microsoft Word/Excel. 
  • Have excellent people skills and intuitive to client’s needs. 
  • A matric certificate or any post-matric qualifications in sales will be an added advantage. 
  • Familiarity with CRM programs. 
  • Outstanding communication skills. 

Advantageous Skills & Experience 

  • Previous sales experience or knowledge of sales principles and practices, especially in the Fire and Security industry (desirable but not essential). 
  • Any post-matric qualifications in sales.
