Mega Mica Silver Lakes – Pretoria, Gauteng

PROTECTION OF AMPER ALLES

Amper Alles Mega Mica Silver Lakes, one of the largest Mica hardware stores in South Africa, opened its doors in October 2017. This Mega Mica store has everything one might need with departments dedicated to building materials, sanitary ware, lighting, electrical, outdoor and camping, gardening, pool, power tools, hand tools, and more.

Installer company HD Fire and Security decided to team up with Technoswitch because of their wide range of high-quality products and excellent support.

The store is double volume, with the first floor designed similar to a warehouse store. The Fire Beam Xtra detectors offer more extensive coverage than traditional point detectors, making them the perfect solutions for this large, open area. The Fire Beam’s advanced technology ensures the beam detectors will automatically align when building movement occurs – resulting in fewer false alarms, saving time, resources, and ultimately money. The remaining areas on the first floor, comprising administration offices and passageways, are protected with Apollo XP95 optical smoke detectors and Discovery manual points at all emergency exits as per SANS10139.

The basement area serves as a loading bay where Apollo XP95 optical smoke detectors, Discovery open-area voice sounder beacons, and Discovery manual call points.

The sprinklers installed by a third party are monitored with the Apollo Input/Output interfaces, and an Advanced fire control panel monitors the devices around the store.

Dylan Barry, the owner of HD Fire and Security: “I enjoyed this installation. It was one of my first installations with the Advanced Fire Panels, and it was a simple installation for me and my technicians”.
