Desroches forms part of the Amirantes group of islands — a remote coral atoll approximately 230 km southwest of Mahé in the Seychelles.
Strewn with coconut trees, Desroches Island is approximately 6 km long, 1 km wide and boasts 14 km of immaculate white, soft, sandy beaches and crystal blue waters. Only reachable by light aircraft from the main island Mahé, this exclusive, environmentally conscious island is one of the most beautiful in the Indian Ocean.
Recently the existing development was purchased and upgraded by a leading hotel group to create a luxurious resort with various Beach Suites and Villas for guests to enjoy.
Green Island Construction Company Limited (a subsidiary of IDC) were enlisted to carry out the construction work and oversee the project. Mauritius-based Manser Saxon were appointed to supply and install the Technoswitch fire detection solution.
With over 40 Luxury Villas and Main Buildings scattered around the island to create privacy for the upmarket guests, the Intelligent Fire detection system was planned around a fibre optic backbone linking various groups of buildings together. Within each group, individual buildings have Apollo Fire Detection and Warning Devices that are controlled by a network of Advanced Intelligent Fire Panels, TouchControl Display Terminals and state-of-the art GSNet Monitoring Software. This enables the state of any device to be observed via graphical displays with pinpoint accuracy, in the event of a fault or fire.
This installation has given peace of mind to all guests that their safety is being given top priority while they enjoy their break in this little piece of paradise.
